Site Update Information
Following the installation of an ADSL connection to the big outside world, better know as the Internet and actually persuading Adobe Web Premium CS3 to work on a 'home' PC, I am now in a position to keep this web site updated on a regular basis.
Hopefully the long-running saga of an acute shortage of photographs for the site has now been partially sorted with the purchase of a pre-owned FujiFilm FinePix S 5600 digital camera... The things I do for this site!
To date all the web site 'update' notifications have been posted on the Message Board which forms an integral part of this site, however many visitors to this site don't visit the Board therefore I've decided to add this page to the site so all of you will know what's been added and what's been updated. Enjoy...

Welcome to Tractor Pulling 2012. The 2012 Calendar has been uploaded to the site, with one little change... The 2012 Diary includes the ETPC EuroCup dates.
We now await the BTPA, Cornish, PPA and Shropshire Pulling dates, plus any others events out there which we don't know about. Any offers?

Compound Confidential has been updated and a new page added. Although 'UK Tractor Pulling Classifications' is still under construction, it will give you a rough idea of how the Tractor Pullers are classified in the UK...

The new 'UK Tractor Pulling Venues' has now been (more or less) finished and has been uploaded. There are a few events missing and I've no photo's of the Barnard Castle Sledges. Can anyone help fill in the missing pieces of the jigsaw?

The 'Pulling in the UK' page has been revised to include the STTPA and I've moved the Pulling venues map to its own page.
The main menu has been slightly re organised as part of the site re-structuring (Pulling in the UK) and a new link added to the IOPD.

Ahead of the Shillingstone week-end the site re-design is proceeding. Work is progressing on an interactive map of the UK showing the location of Pulling venues (see Tractor Pulling in the UK) and a new page which is devoted to the unsung hero's of the sport, the Sledge without which we couldn't have a Pull! Both these sections are very much under construction.
Due to a major oversight the SWTPA Pull at Plas-y-Cadno Farm, Llantwrtyd Wells has only just been added to the Calendar, Forthcoming Events, etc. Oops, sorry about that!

The 'News' page has been re-vamped and updated with the very sad news of the passing of Gerrit Alting, who was the man who created the Ahoy Superpull in Rotterdam. Gerrit, RIP.
A new page looking at all the Tractor Pulling Sledges used in the UK has been started but is still very much 'under construction'. If anyone can help to fill in the blanks...

It's my wife's birthday (50). The site re-build has started with the main 'Index' page now being split into three different pages. I did try to use 'Spry' within Dreamweaver (CS3) but the tabs didn't want to work properly so that options has been put on the back-burner...

You might also like to have a look at 'Anatomy of a Puller' and see if you can work out one very good reason why you shouldn't have a sub-chassis fitted to your tractor! Damned if I can think of one... I've also added a link to Sascha Mecking's little page of horrors. If you think safety doesn't really matter go and have a look. The first video is a very graphic example of what happens when the flywheel fails.

The ETPC Farm Stock Rulebook 2011 (in PDF format) has been added to the site to provide not only competition Pullers but Independents with a wealth of useful information and resources because it provides RPM benchmarks for cast v all-steel flywheels, etc.
The original (closed) UKTP Board has finally been deleted from the server to free-up badly needed space for the UKTP web site...

Although technically not a site sponsor, Digital Mischief has been added to the left-hand 'Links' pane because without all Toby's help and forbearance this site simply wouldn't exist. For some entirely inexplicable reason Mike Barrett Productions wasn't listed on the Acknowledgements page, even though Mike has been a site sponsor since 2009. This oversight has now been remedied...

Following on from the Inquest into the death of Jan van Alphen in August 2007, the HSE has made available the Coroner's closing remarks to highlight the need for safety and to warn of the consequences should a repeat of this incident occur in the UK.
